Morne Morkel not being a part of the South African

Dale Steyn has been chosen in the South African test squad for the upcoming tour of Sri Lanka. Steyn who is regarded as one of the greatest fast bowlers of all time has been in and out of the Proteas squad in the recent times due to injury, however he has been able to prove his fitness just in time to earn a ticket to Sri Lanka where he will spearhead the South African attack along with Kagiso Rabada and Vernon Philander.

With Morne Morkel not being a part of the South African set up anymore as he bid adieu to the game, Steyn’s role in Sri Lanka will be crucial, not only with the new ball, but with the old ball as well. The 34-year old is one of those rare fast bowlers who possess the capability of generating both conventional and reverse swing with enormous efficiency.
