Poor batting indeed, all half prods, lax footwork and no commitment to the strokes.
Athers was always a prize wicket, MA is a legend. he scored so many runs, and spent so much time at the crease that class bowlers like Mr Warne always had a chance… the Sri lankan chucker cannot say the same.. how many Zimbie wickets did he throw? MA legend, SW total class.. And I’m a pom!
It seems as though Atherton just had a problem against Australia in general. Both McGrath and Warne had the wood, very much, on him 😀
Would of got Athers more if McGrath did not destroy him first
@berlindisney fuck off

I just read the cricinfo article you were featured in.. congrats!
Thanks Rob, Great work as usual.
gee, the celebrations were a bit less enthusiastic in Border’s day
didn’t Mcgrath get Atherton out about 18 times?
Listen to Richie commentating these wickets… you can really hear how passionate he is about leg-spin bowling, and how much he enjoyed watching these deliveries.
@Kbillyssupersounds87 Am planning both!
Great compilation as always! Thanks, Rob.
Watching Warnie bowl Atherton round his legs, I can’t seem to understand the LBW rule that batsmen cannot be given out if the ball pitches outside leg stump. It’s mighty unfair for bowlers to lose out on wickets when the ball would have hit the stumps despite pitching outside leg. Also, batsmen frequently pad up when the ball pitches outside leg. Dumb rule in my opinion especially with technology available to confirm decisions!
3:55 salmon trout. clueless
the poms were clueless against him. just ask alec stewart and ian bell
Ambrose had the wood over Athers as well.
Warne would of got him a lot more times, but McGrath made Atherton look like me was batting like McGrath bats when facing McGrath if you get what I mean.
@avialParuvam Should have some Gus, but probably not much.
Hey Rob, first of all I couldn’t thank you enough for these videos you’re a legend for taking the time and putting these up!
This might sound a tad unusual, but is there a chance of a couple of clips of Gus Logie’s batting? I’ve had tiny glimpses at his batting, and have liked what I’ve seen, so I was hoping for a bit more.
@setonfan Cant say I really rate Vaas all that highly, plus I dont have a lot of him to be honest.
Hey Rob is there any chance of getting some Caminda Vaas videos 🙂 ?
That last one is a gem!
@diaboles Lots of fun to make too! Bit of an effort to hunt around for all the dismissals in all the matches but fun to do!
